Meat Slaughtered in Arab Lands

Question

In Saudi Arabia most foodstuffs come from abroad, including, for example, meat, fish, chicken and the like. Therefore we are not at ease about the meat, chicken and so on, since it is not known whether they have been slaughtered in the lawful way or are simply cut up and packed just like that. Please tell us whether it is permissible to eat this or not.

Answer

Since you are not at ease, do not eat it — who is forcing you? Those who are satisfied that it is a Shari‘a slaughter eat it.
