Boxed Meat in Arab Countries

Question

In the Arab countries of the Gulf, meat and chickens are available from countries such as Europe, Australia and America, frozen in refrigerators (thallajat) and packed in crates and boxes, on which is written “slaughtered according to the Islamic method” (مذبوح على الطريقة الإسلامية). Is it permissible according to the Shari‘a to eat these chickens and this meat?

Answer

If you continue to abstain from it, that is the better course, because this product passes through the hands of non-Muslims, whose report is not accepted in religious matters (diyanat); but to call it haram without investigation is also difficult.
