Cheese Made with Rennet from a Calf Slaughtered by Jews
Question
May Muslims eat cheese made with the rennet of a calf slaughtered by Jews, or not?
Answer
There is latitude to use what is slaughtered by a people who believe in the prophethood of some prophet and who affirm and claim to accept some heavenly scripture, provided that they do not pronounce the name of other than Allah at the time of slaughter. If an animal slaughtered by a Muslim is available, it takes precedence in any case.
