Meat Slaughtered by the People of the Book by Machine

Question

In America halal meat is not available; rather, animals are cut and processed by machine. I get by on fruit and the like, take great precautions, and even go hungry. A considerable number of Jews live in America; they do not even eat pork. Their method of slaughter is this: after reciting something according to their religion, they put the animal into the machine, and the machine slaughters the animal. In this situation may I eat this meat or not?
