How far may a mu'takif go on the Farewell Friday (Jumu'at al-Wida')?
Question
The prayer of the Farewell Friday (Jumu'at al-Wida', the last Friday of Ramadan), the Friday prayer and the prayer of the two Eids are performed in upper rooms, on rooftops, on stairways and even on the streets. Up to which places may a mu'takif walk about and come back?
Answer
The place that has been designated for prayer is the mosque, and the mu'takif is commanded to remain in that place. As for the Eid prayer, the i'tikaf ends before it anyway.
