(3) The mu'takif is in a village where the Friday prayer (jumu'a) is not valid according to the Shari'a. May he go to the town for the Friday prayer? (4) A person is in i'tikaf in a town, in a place where jumu'a is not held. May he go to another place in the same town for the Friday prayer? (5)
Answer
(1) Sitting in one place is not required; he is permitted to go to any part of the mosque: for example, if it is hot inside, he may also come out into the courtyard (sahn). (2) The mu'takif is permitted to call the adhan; if he is the muezzin, he may also call the adhan at the place designated for the adhan (outside the mosque). (3)
