Preventing Someone from I'tikaf
Question
If some ignorant person forbids a mu'takif (one observing i'tikaf) and says, “Leave this mosque, there is no need for i'tikaf here,” what is the ruling of the Shari'a regarding such an unreasonable person?
Answer
He should be asked for his reason and his doubt should be removed. If he says this merely out of obstinacy, there is no need to pay any attention to him. You yourself have already written his ruling in the Shari'a: he is an ignorant, unreasonable person.
