Permissible Activities for the Mu'takif
Question
What is the ruling if the mu'takif sometimes goes out from behind the curtain, that is, into the prayer hall of the mosque, and there performs sunna and nafl prayers, recites the Qur'an or looks at some book? And what is the ruling on reading a book aloud (to others) in the prayer hall, giving the adhan, saying the iqama (takbir), delivering a sermon, looking at a good newspaper, and translating religious articles?
Answer
All of this is permissible; however, it is mustahabb to give the adhan from an elevated place.
