The Mu'takif Greeting and Talking on the Way to Relieve Himself

Question

May one ask about someone’s well-being while going to the toilet? And if someone asks about his well-being or makes a gesture of greeting (salam), what is the ruling on replying and the like?

Answer

Giving salam while coming and going, replying to it, telling about one’s well-being and asking about others’ — all of this is permissible.
