Moving from One Side of the Mosque to the Other

Question

Regarding i'tikaf: on the right side of the mosque there is a window, a casement, where air and light are scarce, while on the left side there are large doors where air and light are ample. So, as to the mu'takif leaving the right side and hanging the curtain of his enclosure on the left side, the question is what is better and more preferable.

Answer

There is considerable latitude in this.
