It Is Better to Give Fidya to a Religious Scholar

Question

Is it more appropriate to give fidya or fitra to some religious scholar who is in need but hard-pressed by expenses, or to an utterly destitute poor person (miskin)?

Answer

Giving to a religious person in need is better (afdal).
