Fidya for Fasting and Prayer in the Case of a Traveller and a Sick Person
Question
If a sick person was unable to fast because of illness, and recovery (?) never came at all, will sadaqa be wajib for him in such a case or not — given that for sadaqa health is necessary, so that he may leave a bequest of sadaqa according to the number of those very days?
Answer
If he was such a sick person that he could not fast, and he died during that very illness without regaining health sufficient for fasting, then he is not obliged to make a bequest of fidya, nor is it wajib for the heirs to pay fidya for the fast.
