Injections and Taking Air into the Mouth by Pump While Fasting
Question
What is the ruling on having an injection while observing an obligatory fast, and on a patient with a breathing ailment taking air into the mouth by means of a pump?
Answer
The fast is not broken by an injection, unless the medicine is delivered into the cavity of the stomach. Nor is the fast broken by air entering the mouth, even if it is delivered by a pump — provided that there is nothing else with it.
