Smelling a homeopathic medicine

Question

Smelling a homeopathic medicine has exactly the same effect on the patient as taking the medicine by mouth. If even just a single pill of the medicine is taken between the fingers and given to a fasting patient to smell, will the fast be broken or not?

Answer

The fast will not be broken by merely smelling.
