The Ruling on Reciting the Qur’an at the Prohibited Times

Question

Is the prohibition on recitation [of the Qur’an] at sunrise, sunset and zawal a strict one or a minor one?

Answer

[ar]ثلاثة أوقات لا يصح فيها شيء من الفرائض والواجبات الذي لزمت في الذمة قبل دخول لها: أولها عند طلوع الشمس إلى أن ترتفع وتبيض قدر رمح أو رمحين، والثاني عند استوائها في بطن السماء إلى أن تزول، أي تميل إلى المغرب، والثالث عند اصفرارها إلى أن تغرب[/ar] “Three times in which nothing of the obligatory (fard) and necessary (wajib)
