The sun rose before the fajr prayer was finished

Question

The time of fajr ended at 5:38, but because of the clouds the suras [in the prayer] became long, and [the prayer] ended at 5:43.

Answer

If the sun rose before the fajr prayer was finished, that prayer must be repeated: it was not valid.
