Nafl prayer at fajr time other than the sunna of fajr

Question

In the morning we perform the sunna of fajr at home and set out, then we enter the mosque and find that there are still five or ten minutes left before the congregation stands up. In such a case, may we perform two rak‘as out of respect for the mosque (adab al-masjid) or not?

Answer

At fajr time this is not permitted, even if there is still some time before the congregation; so it is in “Shami”.
