The ruling on prayer at the disliked times
Question
For qada’ prayers and the prostration of recitation (sajdat al-tilawa), is there no other time that is makruh tahrimi apart from the times mentioned? That is, may one perform qada’ prayers at any time other than all the times mentioned — for example, between true dawn and the sunna of fajr, or between the sunna of fajr and the fard of fajr, or after the fard until sunrise, or after the ‘asr prayer until the sunlight turns yellow — without it being disliked?
Answer
At the three times — sunrise, istiwa’ (zenith) and sunset — the qada’ prayer, the prostration of recitation and the ada’ prayer all have one and the same ruling. However, from the reddening of the sun until it sets, the ‘asr of that same day is not makruh, [whereas] any other qada’ even at that time is makruh tahrimi.
