The Reward for Sitting after Fajr until Ishraq Is Not Attained by Getting Up
Question
I have heard from the elders that if [a person], after the Fajr prayer, remains sitting in his place and gets up after praying ishraq, he receives a great reward. But if he gets up to listen to a religious book, a talk and tafsir, or himself picks up some book to read, will the reward be diminished? Please write in detail and with evidence.
Answer
That particular reward will be attained by remaining seated in the same place and then praying ishraq at its time; it will not be attained by getting up for dhikr and a talk. But he will receive the reward of the dhikr and the talk, which is not less; it may even be much greater in some circumstances.
