Reciting the Sunna Supplications Before the Sunna Prayers

Question

What is the ruling on asking [Allah], after the fard prayers and before the sunnas, with the supplications transmitted in Hisn Hasin and other [books]? Is it better (afdal) or makruh — since in ‘Alamgiri and other [books] it is written that asking with long supplications is makruh, whereas in Hujjat Allah al-Baligha the respected Shah says: [ar]والأولى أن يأتي بهذه الأذكار قبل الرواتب[/ar] “It is preferable to recite these dhikrs before the rawatib (regular sunnas).

Answer

There are both views on this. Thus it is in al-Durr al-Mukhtar on the margin of Radd al-Muhtar, vol. 1, p. 356.
