A traveller prayed without ablution and remembered after the time had passed
Question
If someone prayed Zuhr and set out on a journey within that same time, then prayed Asr within its time, then abandoned the journey before sunset, and then remembered that he had prayed Zuhr and Asr without ablution — which prayer should he now pray shortened (qasr) and which in full?
Answer
He should pray Zuhr shortened (qasr), because at that time he was a traveller, and pray Asr in full, because by that time he had already ended the journey. Note — Mawlana Nizamuddin: this ruling applies when the journey is a journey in the sense of the Sacred Law (i.e. of the qasr distance).
