Qasr and itmam

Question

(1) This humble servant has for a long time been doing religious work in Allahabad. [My] original homeland (watan asli) is Barabanki. Usually I stay fifteen to twenty days in Allahabad and go to Barabanki for three or four days. In short, there is no specific intention of residence, only an estimate that I will stay fifteen to twenty days; sometimes I leave after only eight days. During this time, must I pray the prayer shortened (qasr) or in full? (2)

Answer

(1) When you enter Barabanki you will pray the full prayer, even if your stay there lasts only as long as one prayer. In Allahabad, if there is the intention of a continuous stay of fifteen days, you will pray the full prayer there too, even if, having intended fifteen days, it happens that you [set out on] a journey earlier.
