Meerut to Muzaffarnagar is not a travel distance

Question

(1) Zayd is a taxi driver and lives in Meerut. What we want to know is this: suppose Zayd set out from Meerut for Muzaffarnagar, while this distance is 25 miles. Then there will be no qasr there. But if from there he has to come to Deoband, it becomes the qasr distance. Will he perform qasr in this case or not? If in the same way he has to go to Saharanpur or Dehradun, will it be the qasr distance or not? (2) Zayd's car is “All UP” (آل یوپی). Otherwise it runs constantly.

Answer

If Meerut is Zayd's original homeland (watan asli) or place of residence (watan iqama), and he set out from there intending only Muzaffarnagar, which is 25 miles away, then he will not perform qasr. If then, from Muzaffarnagar, he forms the intention of going to Deoband, he will still not perform qasr.
