Sajda al-Tilawa by Means of Ruku‘

Question

Sajda al-tilawa was due, and one performed ruku‘ out of forgetfulness. What should be done now?

Answer

If in prayer, having recited the verse of prostration, he went into ruku‘ deliberately or out of forgetfulness and in it made the niyya of sajda al-tilawa; or did not make the niyya in it, but, as usual, after ruku‘ performed the prostration and in it made the niyya of sajda al-tilawa; or did not make the niyya in it — in every case the sajda al-tilawa has been performed.
