Delaying Sajda al-Tilawa

Question

Having recited a verse of prostration, someone did not prostrate immediately; rather, after two or three verses, having gone far ahead, he remembered, and then performed sajda al-tilawa. The prostration has been performed, but he will be sinful. My question to you is: is the prayer also valid or not, or will the prayer be valid by performing sajda al-sahw, or not?

Answer

If, having recited the verse of prostration, he did not remember immediately, but remembered after reciting three verses following it and performed sajda al-tilawa, then sajda al-sahw is not required. If he remembered after reciting more than that and then performed sajda al-tilawa, sajda al-sahw is required.
