Sajda al-Tilawa and the Funeral Prayer at Sunset
Question
If the funeral prayer or [the prostration for] a verse of prostration is performed after ʿAsr in the deficient (naqis) time, and the sun sets while it is being performed, will it too count as performed deficiently, like the ʿAsr of that same day, or not?
Answer
If the verse of prostration was also recited at that same time and the prostration was performed right then, it is performed deficiently, like the ʿAsr of that same day. But if the verse was recited in the complete time and the prostration was performed at the time of sunset, then this is not like the ʿAsr of that day — rather, it has not been performed at all.
