Names of the caliphs at the four tarwihas

Question

Throughout our Hyderabad (Deccan), after two rak‘as of tarawih people sit and recite some tasbih; then after four rak‘as they sit, [recite] tasbih, and the imam recites a du‘a’ while the muqtadis say “amin”; and after four rak‘as [they mention] the blessed name of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and in the same way at the end of every four rak‘as they mention one caliph each, ending with Hazrat ‘Ali ﵁. Is this method correct?

Answer

This method too is not from the Shari‘a. All the issues are written in the books of fiqh, yet this is not mentioned in them anywhere. [One should] only sit for a while after four rak‘as and remain occupied with tasbih, salawat, istighfar and recitation of the Qur’an, as is written in Shami.
