The imam recites in tarawih without a sami‘, and a follower thinks he recited wrongly: what is the ruling?

Question

If a single hafiz leads the tarawih prayer and there is no sami‘ (listener-prompter), and the hafiz makes some mistake, who bears responsibility for it? (1) In such a case, should one listen to [the whole of] the noble Qur’an in tarawih, or [recite] from “Alam tara kayfa” (the opening of Surat al-Fil)? (2) If the followers have a doubt, what should a follower do in that situation? (3)

Answer

(1) If he is a firm hafiz who knows [the Qur’an] well by heart and has been proven again and again by reading it and having it listened to outside of tarawih as well, then there is no harm for him, and he should not be suspected of mistakes without reason.
