Praying the First Sunnas of Zuhr with Two Salams

Question

Is it permissible to pray the four rak‘as of the emphasized sunna of Zuhr separately, two rak‘as at a time, or not?

Answer

[ar]والسنة قبل فرض الظهر وقبل الجمعة وبعدها أربع بتسليمة، فلو صلى بتسليمتين لم يعد من السنة.[/ar] “The sunna before the fard of Zuhr, before Jumu‘a and after it is four rak‘as with one salam; so if he prays them with two salams, it is not counted as the sunna” (Majma‘ al-Anhur, vol. 1, p. 130).
