Reciting the first-person singular form instead of the feminine singular form in the recitation
Question
In Fajr, the imam recited “هَلِ امْتَلَأْتُ” instead of “يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ” (Surah Qaf, 50:30). Is the prayer valid or not?
Answer
If some word slips from the tongue by mistake during the recitation of the prayer, the jurists, in order to protect the prayer from invalidity (fasad), resort even to a far-fetched interpretation (ta'wil) and rule that the prayer is valid, as is evident from studying the issues of the reciter's slip (zallat al-qari')
