Praying while wearing a sari

Question

May a woman, while wearing a sari, perform the prayer standing? What is the ruling of the Shari'a?

Answer

If the part of the body whose covering in prayer is fard remains covered by the sari, the prayer in it will be valid. And where the sari is in general custom, and it is not a distinctive emblem (shi'ar) specific to the fasiqs or the unbelievers, wearing it there is permissible.
