Praying with the buttons left undone

Question

Does the prayer become makruh if the buttons on the shirt cuffs are left undone, and if the collar buttons are left undone?

Answer

(1–2) Any manner of dress in which one could not go to a respectable gathering is makruh in the state of prayer, provided that it is not established by the sunna. Since people feel shy of appearing before their elders with rolled-up sleeves, prayer in such a state is makruh. The etiquette of prayer requires that one pray with the sleeves lowered, with dignity and propriety.
