Making the first rak‘a much longer
Question
What is the ruling on reciting much in one rak‘a and little in the other? For example, someone recites the whole para ‘Amma in one rak‘a of tarawih, and in the second rak‘a half a ruku‘ of Alif Lam Mim: will there be any invalidation in the prayer?
Answer
The prayer does not become fasid by this, but lengthening the first rak‘a to such an extent is contrary to what is better (khilaf al-afdal).
