What Is the Ruling if the Second Rak‘a Is Made Longer than the First?
Question
If the recitation in the second rak‘a turns out longer than in the first, what is the ruling?
Answer
Making the second rak‘a so much longer than the first that the lengthening becomes gross (tul fahish) is makruh. Where [such recitation] is established [by the sunna], it is not makruh.
