All the followers standing up at “qad qamati-s-salah”!
Question
Hazrat Imam Muhammad ﵀ wrote in Kitab al-Salat: “I asked Hazrat Imam A‘zam ﵀: a person remains seated during the iqama and stands up at ‘hayya ‘ala-s-salah’ — what is the ruling? He said: ‘La haraj’ (there is no harm). Then I asked: a person stands from the beginning of the iqama — what is the ruling? He said: ‘La haraj’.” We ask Hazrat to clarify whether this narration is authentic, and which book is meant by Kitab al-Salat — what is the name of the book in whose Kitab al-Salat he said this?
Answer
A manuscript copy of Kitab al-Salat existed in Hyderabad Deccan, in which the heading of the issue is as follows: Imam Muhammad ﵀ says: “I asked Imam Abu Hanifa ﵀: a man stands up at the beginning of the iqama? He said: ‘La haraj.’ I asked: a man stands up at ‘hayya ‘ala-l-falah’? He said: ‘La haraj.’” 2.
