The followers standing at “hayya ‘ala al-salah”
Question
Question: When the iqama is being said, at what point should the imam and the followers stand up?
Answer
If the imam is already near the prayer place, then when the mukabbir says “hayya ‘ala al-salah”, everyone — the imam and the followers — should stand. If he comes from the direction of the rows, the worshippers of each row should stand as he reaches their row, so that by the time he reaches the prayer place everyone is already standing.
