A second adhan because the electricity went off
Question
In the mosque, just as the adhan began over the microphone, the electricity went off, but the mu’adhdhin went on and called the adhan without the microphone. One person said that the women of the neighbourhood were probably waiting for the mosque’s adhan, so the adhan should be called again outside the mosque, because the first adhan took place in the room of the mosque and the voice did not reach even the door of the mosque. Some people forbade the second adhan. What is the ruling on this?
Answer
If everyone came to know of this adhan, and the voice of the whole adhan could not reach [them] only because the electricity went off, then this too is sufficient, and there is no need for a second adhan. However, if a second adhan is called as well, there is no sin in that either.
