Hadiths on the Merits of the Month of Rajab

Question

Are the merits of staying awake on the night of the Mi‘raj mentioned in sound (sahih) hadiths or not? And what is [the ruling on] deliberately staying awake that night? Also, hadiths of the following kind are cited in this connection — are they sound or not: that whoever reaches the month of Rajab and performs a full ritual bath (ghusl) on its fifteenth and last day is as one who has attained purity from sins as if he had just been born from his mother’s womb.

Answer

The merit of staying awake in the last part of the night for prayer and supplication is established by sound hadiths; it was also the practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and is the way of the righteous (salihin). As for staying awake specifically on the night of the Mi‘raj, I do not know of any narration about this in the sound (sihah) collections.
