Did the Prophet ﷺ Ever Invoke a Curse Against Anyone?

Question

Zayd and Bakr are disputing the following: [Zayd holds that] the Prophet ﷺ never cursed (invoked ill) upon anyone, since he was “a mercy to the worlds” (rahmatan li’l-‘alamin). Bakr says that sometimes, in matters connected with the Sacred Law, the Prophet ﷺ did invoke ill upon someone.

Answer

The noble Prophet ﷺ, on other occasions too, invoked ill upon oppressors. He also recited qunut nazila (a special supplication added to the prayer against enemies). He would name specific individuals and invoke ill upon them.
