A Houri Emerging from a Fruit of Paradise

Question

Some preachers say that when the people of Paradise break open certain fruits, a houri will emerge from within, and that the peel will become her garment. Is this correct? In which hadith is this mentioned? Kindly indicate the hadith and the page.

Answer

It is not preserved in my memory that I have seen a hadith of this content. The one who related it should be asked for his reference. However, this much is indeed found in the Noble Qur’an: [ar]فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِيهِ ٱلْأَنفُسُ وَتَلَذُّ ٱلْأَعْيُنُ[/ar] “Therein is whatever the souls desire and in which the eyes delight” (Surah al-Zukhruf, 43:71)
