Walking on the Roof of a Room Containing the Qur'an

Question

Question: There is a well into which thousands of copies of the Holy Qur’an have been laid to rest (the practice of retiring worn Qur’an pages by placing them in a well); its mouth has been closed and levelled with the ground. Will those who walk over it be sinful or not — given that it is known that this well is indeed the one that was closed for this reason?

Answer

If this is known, then it is better to exercise caution [and avoid walking over that spot]; otherwise, this is like a case where the Holy Qur’an is inside a house and people walk about on its roof.
