Keeping the Qur'an in One's Pocket
Question
Question: I have a pocket-sized copy of the Holy Qur’an, and it stays in my pocket at all times. Can I take it with me into the toilet as well, or not? And it is obvious that I am not in a state of wudu at all times, so there is a concern that my hand may touch it in my pocket without wudu — is this permissible or not? Kindly indicate some way that I could keep the Holy Qur’an with me at all times and recite from it.
Answer
It is not a proper practice to keep the Noble Qur’an in one’s pocket at all times: sometimes one has to enter an unclean place with it as well, and at times one’s hand touches it even without wudu.
