Turning One's Back to the Holy Qur'an

Question

Question: The Holy Qur’an is kept inside a cupboard facing the door of the room. When leaving the room, one ends up with one’s back turned towards it. Is this contrary to proper respect (adab)?

Answer

If it is kept with due honour and respect, then turning one’s back towards it in this way when leaving is not contrary to proper respect.
