Nikah with the Intention of Divorce

Question

A person contracts nikah with the intention: “I will satisfy my carnal desire in a day or so and then give a divorce,” and he keeps contracting such marriages. Will the nikah of one with such an intention be valid, or will it be like a mut‘a marriage? If it is permissible, will he be sinful or not?

Answer

Formally the nikah will be concluded, but because the intention is not sound he will deserve the threatened punishment (wa‘id). Divorcing without reason is in itself hateful. However, if someone gave his wife a mughallaza divorce (final, triple divorce)
