The Nikah of a Man and a Woman Who Never Pray

Question

A young man and a young woman both know the kalima but never pray. Is the nikah between the two of them valid?

Answer

The nikah will indeed be valid, but the sin of abandoning a fard is by no means light; great care must be taken over it. Abandoning prayer is not a minor sin.
