Going Out to the Open Ground for the Eid Prayer Is Mustahabb

Question

The Eid al-Adha prayer is performed in the mosques of the city, and this ruling is written thus in “Bihishti Zewar” (“Heavenly Ornaments”). But what needs to be clarified is this: does not the abandonment of the sunna by such a large number of people amount to persistence (mudawama) [in abandoning it]?
