How the Masbuq Completes the Eid Prayer

Question

If in the Eid prayer someone misses the first rak‘a, how should he make up that missed first rak‘a?

Answer

When he stands up after the imam’s salam, he should first recite the thana’, ta‘awwudh, tasmiya, al-Fatiha and a sura, then say the additional takbirs, go into ruku‘ and complete the rest of the prayer (Tahtawi, p. 291).
