Having a haircut on the day of Jumu’a

Question

What is the ruling on having a haircut on Friday before the Friday prayer?

Answer

This is the way of the Prophet ﷺ: [ar]كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُصُّ شَارِبَهُ وَيَقْلِمُ أَظْفَارَهُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرُوحَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ[/ar] “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to trim his moustache and clip his nails on Friday before going to the prayer.” Narrated by al-Bayhaqi (“Radd al-Muhtar”).
