Delivering One Jumu'a Khutba Seated on the Minbar and the Other Standing

To what extent is it correct to deliver one Jumu'a khutba seated on the minbar and the other standing?

Answer

Doing so without an excuse is makruh. [ar]ثم قيامه بعد الأذان في الخطبتين، لو قعد فيهما أو في إحداهما أجزأ وكره من غير عذر[/ar] “Then [comes] his standing after the adhan in both khutbas; if he sat in both of them or in one of them, it suffices, but it is makruh without an excuse” (Maraqi al-Falah).
