Looking About During the Khutba
Question
During the Jumu'a khutba some people keep peering about in all directions, walk around and make all sorts of movements. If this khutba is in the ruling of prayer, then by the Shari'a it would not be proper to do such acts that are contrary to prayer. And if, instead of Arabic, the khutba is given in Urdu after the praise (hamd) and glorification (thana') [of Allah], is it necessary to show it respect in the same way, or is there some difference?
